The city of Sczaaczuhn is on and in Kronenforge Mountain at the edge of the Berserker Range. The iron mining operation which became the basis of this community began about 3000 years ago.

Much of the city's activity is towards maintaining border patrols and watching the Berserker Range for any plots by Molokai -- Bædgeis is less than a day away, as the raven flies. The permanent military complement includes 800 dwarven infantry, 300 human rangers, 100 human monks (LN), 300 halfling archers, and 100 human cavaliers. In the event of an attack on the city, 2d12 + 10 stone giants may be summoned from neighboring mountains -- these sometimes consider Sczaaczuhn as their little brothers.

Sea Peoples

Floating Nation

The Sea Peoples have had a near monopoly on ocean travel for nearly 7000 years. Worldwide, they number about two hundred thousand, although only about fifty thousand exist in the vicinity of Zam at any given time. They are 75% human, 10% half-elven, 10% elves and a mixture of others. In their history, there have even been twelve dwarves (declared insane by their race). Any person with reasonable strength and dexterity and who is neither married nor more than 25 years old may go through the Rites of Induction and join.

The Sea Peoples are composed of several clans of differing customs and purposes.

Through the millennia, there have been several times when the Sea Peoples have split into warring factions. Each time, the Sea Peoples reunite, allegedly forgetting all differences. However almost every member whose family has been at sea for more than a few generations secretly feels that the real royal line is theirs. Most of these claims are trivial and a few millennia old.

Most of the Sea Peoples have been following a prophesy that the entire planet is soon to be invaded by aliens. About 5 years after the beginning of game time is the projected date for the invasion to start. No aliens are planning to invade, and the Sea Peoples are likely to mis-interpret any extravagant behavior by anyone at that time. Some coastal folks may have noticed that the Sea Peoples stopped having children ten years ago. Most of those who have noticed don't mention it, for that might spoil what they consider a good thing.

The Sea Peoples' cities are for the purposes of trade with the locals. Their citadels are naval outposts and training grounds, as well as military shipyards. No outsiders are permitted in the citadels. Deities: POSEIDON (primarily), TEFNUT, PTAH (among some groups)

The major shrine of POSEIDON is a huge ship. This makes pilgrimages easier -- the shrine does the travelling.

Sons of Shazam

Covert Society

Founded just before Shazam's fall by magic users and clerics who foresaw it. Exists worldwide. Runs at least two houses in each college of war, and thus has infiltrated all worthwhile armies as well as the Sea Peoples' Navy. If a certain call is transmitted, a major fighting force may be mustered from these within two months. Each source of recruits is told a different story as to the nature of the orginization. Primary outposts in Frenkenford, Lost and Bokrü. In Frenkenford, they have discovered the catacombs which now exist around the ancient Buhnn Military Research Center. The Center is now the focus of their activity, and they are slowly accumulating and deciphering the records there. Not really fighting for any particular ethical point of view, the Sons exist largely to promote their own power.

Recruitment Possibilities
If possible, a whole party will be recruited. Fighters are always welcome.
Recruitment Techniques
A member who needs helpers will hang around local taverns and drink with any likely people.
Recruiting Image
They wow newcomers with their worldwide contacts.
Opportunities & Benefits
A player gaining 125,000 points for the Sons will be given power over an entire city and its surrounding area, but no higher rank is possible.
Possible Missions
The Sons are big on recovering ancient artifacts.

Southside Field

In the Eaderoter Forest

A clearing on a small rise near the southern end of the forest, this is the mustering ground and combat training area for the ranger trainees. In the daytime, there is a 25% chance that there will be d4 pairs of low-level rangers engaged in practice with padded and weighted staffs. If the trainees hear a party coming, all but one will hide nearby. The remaining lone ranger (sorry!) will ask the party their business, and at some point in the conversation, the rest of the trainees will come out of the forest behind the party. If the party is hostile and obviously more formidable than the rangers, the latter will fade back into the forest in every direction, and they will notify their friends. If the party is friendly, the trainees will cheerfully provide directions and information.

SpellJammer & ZAM!

Outer worlds and their inhabitants are not generally public knowledge among Zammers.

New Tronbaum Contacts

Aliens are in Finagle and other locations in New Tronbaum surreptitiously.

Sea Peoples Contacts

Several (about 20%) factions of the Sea Peoples have limited contact with spacefarers.

Some land touchdowns happen on the mountain behind Blastport.

Water comings and goings occur far out to sea. The Sea Peoples have a monopoly on these.

Stobar is a rarity -- a magic user with great physical strength. He figured that a knack for the odd spell would be the last thing one might expect from such a brawny bloke.

His boss and coworkers don't know about Oop, so the information he gains through his owl appears all the more impressive.
